Chiapas Mountains
My experience in the Chiapas mountains marked a turning point in my artistic practice. During this period, I worked from direct observation of the coffee-growing landscape , paying attention to its rhythms, textures, and silences as active forms of presence.
From this immersion also emerged Murmullos de la sierra , a book that accompanies the pictorial work and brings together reflections, images and written fragments that dialogue with the territory.
This project articulates painting and words as complementary forms of recording, memory, and presence, expanding the field of the work beyond the canvas and consolidating a practice that is built from situated experience.
